Seeking funds to beautify a public area? Our organization provides matching grants specifically for initiatives that improve the aesthetics and visual quality of our county's communal spaces. We invite leaders in the community to propose projects—from elegant landscaping to new public art—that uphold a commitment to tasteful, responsible visual improvement in our mountain region. A wide variety of projects have benefited from this funding in recent years.

Terra Forma Earth Mound
Installed on the Tryon Arts and Crafts School property, by artist Crista Cammaroto, this work, inspired by rituals and environmentalism, involves a physical meditation of digging, molding, and arranging flora to create a designed foreground experience, often enhanced by colorful spices. The complete installations are photographed as archival artifacts before all elements are returned to the earth, with the overall practice fusing multiple art mediums and seeking to inspire viewers to a deeper engagement with the natural world.
