Theater, music, architecture, painting, sculpture, crafts and public gardens have played a large role in making Polk County an interesting and stimulating place to live and visit. To build upon this legacy, the Appearance Commission encourages and supports the development of specific programs that will produce public sculptures throughout the county and attractive murals on old walls. We encourage our leaders and committed citizens to come together with realistic plans for this further flowering of our creativity and community spirit.
