Life Network Mural

If you head up Pacolet Street and take the next right on Depot Street, on the left, across from the historic depot building you’ll see a 20-foot-high mural that was commissioned by Ian Griggs, a Tryon real estate developer who oversaw the renovation of the building that the mural is on. Griggs is an art lover who wanted to give back to the community through public art. He hired Asheville artist Wyatt Grant to paint it in November 2023. The bottom half resembles an abstract circuitry and the top half a myriad of varied snowflake shapes drifting downwards referencing the popular barn quilts in the area. As the name implies the mural symbolizes life’s journey through unpredictable variables.
