A resident of Spartanburg for 38 years, Barbara Bordogna is a native of Smithfield, NC and a graduate with honors in painting from the College of William and Mary. She holds a MAT degree in art education from UNC at Chapel Hill. A retired art teacher, she now works as a painter and fiber artist in her studio in Converse Heights. Her works span more than 40 years and include watercolors, acrylics, oils, murals, sculpture and fiber arts. A member of the Spartanburg Artist’s guild and the Cherokee County Association of Visual Artists, she has works in regional, national, and international collections and painted two large outdoor murals in Pacolet for the town’s celebration of place and the Pacolet Museum.
Thoughts of Home celebrates the beautiful landscapes of our Carolina foothills complete with old barns and stables that surely held horses in the past. The legs are designed with a carpet of autumn leaves photographed by the artist on a friend’s farm. This particular horse was purchased by The Lane Family in honor of their patriarch.
