Mural at Pace Park

On the other side of the street is the small Pace Park just to the left of M. A. Pace General Store. There is a mural by local artist Susan Olivari, which depicts the rich history of Saluda through the ages. Olivari says she researched Saluda’s history and examined old photos to come up with the design. City commissioners held a competition, soliciting designs from local artists, selected three finalists and surveyed citizens to pick the winning design which was Olivari’s. She began work on it in her home studio in early 2023 and it was installed the following May.
