2023 Beautification Awards
The Kudzu Warriors is a group of volunteers that has been working for many years to preserve the natural beauty of our area. One of the most damaging dangers to our forests is the spread of kudzu that is slowly killing the native trees. The Kudzu Warriors have been removing kudzu for years and showing us how to get it done. 2021 Beautification Awards
These awards are for projects completed in the past year of 2021. We all know that this was another difficult year for many people but even in this trying time an exceptional number of important improvements were made. The beautiful Nina Simone Plaza honors the musician and native of Tryon who achieved international acclaim. Born Eunice Waymon, she was a singer, songwriter, pianist and activist. 2019 and 2020 Beautification Awards
Award certificates are presented at one of our County Commissioner public meetings. A newspaper article with photographs informs the public about each award winner and their beautification project.
